In-container serilization
With in-container sterilization, the packaged product is sterilized after the container has been filled and hermetically sealed. Hence, the product is sterilized inside the container. This method offers the benefit of single-stage sterilization and offers an alternative for aseptic packaging.
The products can be packaged in rigid, semi-flexible, or flexible packaging as long as the package can withstand thermal treatment. Typical products utilizing this method are soups, meats, vegetables, dried beans, and less heat sensitive low-acid beverages.
The line would include filling and sealing equipment followed by the Stork continuous hydrostatic sterilizer, which can be designed in a variety of executions to provide high capacity and uniform thermal processes.
