Reference Projects

Below is a selection of reference projects executed over the past few years, presented in 3 categories;

Oil & Gas

GRAIN LNG (UK): Provision of engineering design services to National Grid Grain LNG. Services include various conceptual design studies involving gas and LNG filtration, control of boil-off gas (ground flaring, HP compression), pressure reduction equipment, and LPG storage.

TAQA (Netherlands): Conceptual Design of the Bergermeer gas storage project for TAQA. The depleted gas field is located near Almaar, The Netherlands, and has a capacity of 3,200 M m3. This is approximately the same size as the UK's offshore Rough facility, which is the largest gas storage facility in the UK.  To the left is a picture of TAQA's existing PGI facility (with a capacity of 500M m3).

VIKING GAS (UK): Provision of engineering design services for the debottlenecking and future expansion of the Knapton Power Generation Plant.

WARWICK ENERGY (UK): Project definition and FEED (Front End Engineering Design) scopes of work for an onshore underground gas storage facility development at Caythorpe, East Yorks.  Depleted gas reservoir with a capacity of 200M m³.

Subsequent work included Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services to the customer.

NATIONAL GRID GAS (UK): Emissions Reduction Project feasibility studies at Hatton, Huntingdon, Peterborough and Carnforth Compressor Stations. Goal to replace GT’s with electrical variable speed machines to reduce NOx emissions.

NATIONAL GRID LNG STORAGE: Technical audits for the LNG storage facilities at Partington, Avonmouth, Dynevor Arms and Glenmavis to ensure ‘as-built’ status of key operational documentation.

SHELL EPDC(NIGERIA): Conceptual design and project specification for the Otumara Associated Gas Gathering Node which collects associated gas from 4 flow stations in the area. The project is a key part of SPDC's target of eliminating flaring by 2008.

PRECISION DRILLING, NORTHLAND (UK): Mechanical and process design surfaces for an off-shore surface separation package relating to an under-balanced drilling application (feed 50 MMScfd gas - at 5,000 psi - and 15,000 bbl/d)

THE OIL PIPELINE AGENCY (UK): Design and project management of two new pump stations at Calne and Berwick Wood including two 1.2 MW pumps for transfer of aviation grade kerosene.

Environmental

AWE ALDERMASTON (UK): FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and full EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) of 2 evaporator modules with a combined capacity of 1 m³/hour of radioactive waste water.

Evaporator supplied to RWE Solutions for incorporation into the new WTP facility.  This project subsequently won the 2006 IchemE Water Award.

ROLLS ROYCE AND ASSOCIATES:  FEED followed by full EPC contract for the supply of one 5.4 m³/hour capacity forced recirculation evaporator.   Plant is used by DML at Devonport as part of the D154 project for the clean-up and re-fit of the Vanguard Class Nuclear Submarines.

ROLLS ROYCE AND ASSOCIATES:  FEED followed by full EPC contract for the supply of one 5.4 m³/hour capacity forced recirculation evaporator.  Plant is to be operated as a full-scale pilot as part of the development work for future clean-up of the Vanguard Class Nuclear Submarines.

Stork-wide Oil & Gas Projects

Shell One Gas (UK/ Dutch North Sea): Consortium with Amec, Jacobs and Stork for an Integrated Service Contract with a duration of 7 years. Scope is 50 off-shore production locations and 2 gas treatment centres, on UK and NL side of the North Sea.

NAM (Netherlands): Consortium (Siemens, Yokogawa and Stork) formed for the renovation and compression of 29 gas treatment facilities in the north of the Netherlands. Project runs from 1997 to 2020. Stork provides the construction and project management.

BP (Caspian Sea): Development and implementation of an Integrity Management System, including: pipeline (on-shore & off-shore), pressure vessels, structures, ports and lifting equipment.

Bayern Oil (BP, Germany): Engineering, supply and installation of a Swirlflash system on a GE frame 5 gas turbine, reducing NOx by 40% and increasing output by 10%.
