This week, Stork successfully concluded Tour de Stork, its employee engagement project centred around the partnership with the Grand Départ Utrecht 2015. The Grand Départ was the official starting event of the 102nd Tour de France, departed from Utrecht on July 4th. Stork supported this event as official technical partner.
Tour de Stork ran from mid-January until mid-July and aimed to connect employees from all over the world by activities that focussed on cycling and teamwork in the spirit of ‘One Team’. Over a thousand employees actively participated in one or more activities within the program. The Bike Art competition challenged employees to construct a bicycle from scrap material from the Stork workshops. This resulted in 32 designs of which the best were publically displayed during the Grand Départ. Employees in Stork’s office locations were challenged to work (out) together in the Bike@Work program. More than 25.000 miles were cycled in more than 40 offices worldwide. The Stork Bike Ride made it possible to cycle on parts of the Tour de France around the city of Utrecht. More than 100 Stork employees participated in this recreational bike ride on June 28th.
Arnold Steenbakker, CEO Stork, reflects: “We started the Tour de Stork campaign to demonstrate that working together equals winning together. The enthusiasm for the program was overwhelming. Tour de Stork again confirmed how successful we operate as One Team.”
