The MECAP region’s TRIF rate has significantly increased from January – September 2013. It has been identified that the most frequent causes of the recordable injuries were poor hazard identification and lack of risk assessment.
In addition it was established that there were some gaps in the communication of hazards, risks and controls to the workforce. This has resulted in colleagues being injured and off work, the root of many OF THE INCIDENTS WERE PREVENTABLE.
We have designed a safety campaign, to help mitigate the gaps through a participative approach, and by providing specific programmes and tools.
