Fingers and hand campaign - Continental Europe

Safety update from Mike Mann, SVP - Global HSSEQ:

With disappointment, I confirm that, in Continental Europe alone, Stork has reported 30 hand and finger incidents so far this year.

As there are simple steps we can take to protect our hands and fingers, this incident rate is unacceptable and we must to do more to stop such injuries from occurring. With immediate effect, I ask that you commit to reversing this trend.

Hands and fingers are one of the most complex parts of your body.

They enable us to execute simple or complex jobs that cannot be performed by any other part of the body. Without your hands, it would be extremely difficult to do even the routine tasks that we take for granted every day.

Despite this, injuries to hands and fingers are one of the most common causes of lost time incidents, with millions occurring globally each year. Stork is not immune to this trend, demonstrated by the fact we’ve had 30 hand and finger incidents in Continental Europe this year alone.

Incidents like this can have a serious effect, not only on a person’s ability to work,  the company and our customers, but also activities in their personal lives too.

As there are simple steps we can take to protect our hands and fingers, this incident rate is unacceptable and we must to do more to stop such injuries from occurring.

Thanks in advance for your support of this campaign,

Mike Mann
