A memo from Mike Mann, SVP - Global HSSEQ

The overall group safety performance continues to show improvement. In MECAP performance has plateaued in recent months, and the Americas continue to improve. However, in UK/Africa and Continental Europe we are seeing an increase in our total recordable frequency rates.

It is imperative that we get to the immediate, root and underlying causes of these incidents in order to learn lessons and implement mitigating actions to reverse this trend.

In recent months, two clear incident trends have emerged - slips, trips & falls and finger & hand injuries. These are our two key focus areas.

We recently created two campaigns to support you in reducing slips, trips & falls and finger & hand injuries. If you have not already done so, please download these by clicking here and here.

I strongly believe that we have it within our grasp to achieve our target of zero injuries. This will take time, and it will take teamwork. So, let us REACH Beyond Zero for HSEQ excellence, together.
