A note from Mike Mann, SVP - Global HSSEQ

Continental Europe continues to drive significant improvements in safety performance; however, all other regions are seeing an increase in incidents. Globally, we recorded 6 LTIs in July and 9 additional
recordable incidents. This resulted in increased company-wide LTIF and TRIF.

Whilst we commend the efforts of our colleagues in Continental Europe, I appeal to our global community to join forces to make safety our no.1 priority each and every day.

We all have an important role to play. Our leadership and HSEQ teams are here to provide you with the support, tools and resources that you need to work safely. That includes giving you our absolute backing to raise safety concerns and intervene when you think something may be unsafe.

You must challenge not only our own processes and procedures, but you should also feel comfortable in challenging client processes and requests if you think there may be a safety implication.

Let me be clear, you must never perform work in unsafe conditions - if you have any concerns, you must raise them immediately. If anyone - including a client - attempts to dismiss your concerns without due
consideration, we urge you to raise this with a member of our senior management team, who will fully support your intervention.

If we work together in this way, we will make major improvements in our safety performance. So, let’s start today. Let’s improve safety, together.
