Lesson Learned - Cut to hand

A Stork worker was using shrink wrap to wrap up a pallet of materials. When tearing the shrink wrap it subsequently snarled on the roll.  The Injured Party (IP) then used a metal scraper to try and unpick the shrink wrap.  Whilst doing so, the scraper slipped and cut through the gloves he was wearing, cutting his finger.  The cut was treated and sealed using super glue.

The gloves being worn were ‘Granberg Touchlite’ which are approved PPE and generally used for rope access work. These gloves do not have a stated cut protection level and are general purpose gloves not designed for mechanical tasks.
