Lessons Learned - Back Injury
Two scaffolders were tasked to remove scaffold boards and plyboard as part of a dismantle workscope. To try and reduce manual handling, they decided to work as a pair to remove the boards. The working conditions involved both individuals lifting and removing the boards within close proximity to each other.
During this activity one scaffolder dropped a scaffold board from waist height onto their colleague, who was knelt down at the time.
