Lessons Learned - Eye Injury 12-08-2012

A qualified Rope Access technician was engaged in de-rigging a rope access system from an overhead position. As he proceeded with removing the rigging anchors a foreign material fell entering his left eye. The technician was wearing safety glasses as the primary means of eye protection at the time of the incident.  The foreign material caused immediate discomfort and was reported to his Supervisor immediately. The work was stopped and the technician returned to ground level to receive medical treatment.
