Lessons Learned - Inappropiate Storage

A non-Stork worker stored a number of large metal bolts by standing them on end and leaning them against the side of a distribution board.  The bolts each measured 1000mm x 25mm and weighed approx. 25kg.

During an unconnected operation a Stork worker placed his hand on the distribution board.  This caused slight movement to the bolts which in turn, caused the bolts to dislodge, topple over in a domino effect and land on top of the Stork worker’s right foot.  As a result, the Stork worker sustained a broken bone in his foot and he was unable to return to work for several weeks.
