Lessons Learned - Production Shutdown

Whilst an asbestos team were sheeting up an asbestos enclosure with polythene sheeting, a piece of polythene fell over a line of sight detector, which was outside of the enclosure boundary. The asbestos team were then alerted by the tannoy of a production shutdown and the suspension of all hot work and spark potential permits.

The platform production operative visited the worksite of the asbestos team to investigate the situation. It was established that the polythene which had fallen over the line of sight detector and set it off was the cause of shutdown. The polythene was removed and the platform restarted all production.
