REACH Beyond Zeroing Out: Event Highlights

Stork (previously RBG Limited) hosted its inaugural REACH Beyond Zeroing Out forum in Aberdeen (29 September) which provided a platform for knowledge-sharing, debate and discussion on key HSEQ issues in the oil and gas industry.

The forum, which is set to become an annual fixture the company’s event calendar, was created with a view to improving HSEQ performance through sharing best practice and strengthening collaboration between Stork, Operators and tier-one contractors to improve.

Keynote speakers at REACH Beyond Zeroing Out included James Munro (Health & Safety Executive), Ian Buchan (Talisman Energy (UK) Limited), Mark McGowan (Centrica Energy Upstream), Steve McGrady (GlaxoSmithKline) and Ralph Hardwick (Wood Group PSN), who each presented on an HSEQ issue pertinent to the oil & gas sector.

The event was held under the banner of Stork’s REACH Beyond Zero HSEQ initiative and since its launch in December 2009, REACH Beyond Zero has helped significantly improve the company’s HSEQ performance across its global operations. As RBG enters a new phase of growth as part of Stork, there is a continual drive to ensure these excellent standards are maintained at all times.

Dave Workman, CEO of the former RBG business, said: “In terms of safety, the industry as a whole has come a long way in recent years, but I am sure we all acknowledge that more can be done. I strongly believe that events such as REACH Beyond Zeroing Out provide a powerful vehicle for sharing best practice and lessons learned.”
