REACH Beyond Zero campaigns help us to raise awareness and share information on issues that are affecting our people – for example: slips, trips & falls or dropped objects. Our safety performance is analyzed on a monthly basis and from this we can identify trends, which then form the topic for our next campaign.
Campaigns are carried out when a trend in incidents is identified. Our corporate and regional HSE teams will develop campaigns for the global business. Our Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) booklet is used by employees across our global community. You can download a sample of this via our links below. Printed copies are available from your regional HSE team.
The purpose of this booklet is to help protect our people against the risk of Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS). It gives guidelines for preventing HAVS as well as checklists to ensure that the risk is being reduced.
The HAV booklet should be used by every employee exposed to vibration tools or machinery.
Each section should be fully completed for every task undertaken where exposure to HAVS is possible. At the end of each shift, the information collected in the HAV booklet should be transferred to the user forms and forwarded to the HAVS coordinator for review and filing. Our house rules are mandatory for all Stork employees and should be implemented at every Stork location. The purpose of the house rules is to ensure that we are all working to one standard, which helps us to work safely at all times.

- Evaluate if the results were planned/intended
- Evaluate if procedures/rules were knowingly violated
- Consider any other relevant information

Our Last Minute Risk Assessment Booklet (LMRA) is used across all Stork locations. You can download a digital sample via the links below; printed copies are available from your regional HSE team.
LMRA booklets are used to identify any hazards present at your worksite. It is designed to alert you to any potential hazards that may have been overlooked or missed during the initial risk assessment stage.
LMRA booklets should be completed prior to commencing any work activity or where there is significant change to the work method, work surroundings, work environment or after a significant period away from the task (for example: tea break, lunch).
LMRA booklets should be completed by every operative employee. If agreed with supervision / management, one LMRA can be completed by the team carrying out the activity but ONLY if every member of the team has been involved in the assessment.
Each section should be fully completed for every task undertaken. Use the prompt words at the rear of the booklet to identify possible areas of risk.
A LMRA should kept in your possession at all times when onsite. Completed booklets should be passed to your supervisor and sent onshore for archiving. Completed booklets should be retained for a period of three years.
We have a standard template for all lessons learned, which are shared on our website.
Lessons learned help us to identify and share learnings and key actions which have been implemented following an incident. All lessons learned should be shared globally via iAlerts to ensure we are sharing best practice and knowledge - not only throughout Stork but also with our clients and industry peers.
It is mandatory that a lessons learned be develpped and communicated after all lost workday and high potential cases.
Lessons learned are developed by the key personnel involved in the incident, with support from HSE.

Safety Summary Reviews are created for each of our regions and global safety performance. These are shared on our website and sent to all Stork employees. Please click here to view our monthly performance reviews on the Stork website.
Safety Summary Reviews provide a mechanism for benchmarking our performance in a meaningful way - on the basis that: if you can’t measure performance you can’t improve it.
Obviously, producing data does not drive improvements in itself. What does make a difference is the way that we analyze our data and use this information to improve our performance. This is the purpose of this essential REACH Beyond Zero tool.

REACH Beyond Zero Response Cards enable us to capture all unsafe acts/conditions and safe acts/conditions. Please note that they are not used for reporting near misses - near misses are reported according to our incident reporting procedure.
REACH Beyond Zero Response Cards should be completed whenever you identify unsafe acts/conditions and safe acts/conditions in the workplace. Completed cards should be passed to your supervisor for inclusion in monthly reports and trending for possible re-occurring issues.
If working on a client site and requested to use their system, this is acceptable. However, we advise you to share this with your Supervisor for reference.
All Stork employees are encouraged to complete REACH Beyond Zero Response Cards.
All REACH Beyond Zero Response Cards should be completed in full. It is important that, whenever possible, the corrective action is agreed at the time of the intervention/observation. Completing your name is not a mandatory requirement.
Response Cards are printed and are to be made available on site. Please contact your Regional HSE focal point to obtain these.

Our standard safety alert template is used to notify employees that a potential hazardous situation has occurred or could occur if control measures are not put in place. The safety alert template, below, should be used when it has been identified that a potential hazardous situation has occurred or could occur if control measures are not put in place.
The safety alert template should be completed by personnel who have knowledge of the incident, and must be endorsed by an HSE team member. To upload a safety alert on the REACH Beyond Zero website, please contact our Corporate Communications team via email@example.com
The safety alert template should be completed in full, detailing why the alert has been developed and the actions taken to prevent an incident or reoccurrence. All safety alerts should be forwarded to our Corporate Communications team for global distribution and placement on the Stork website and iAlerts. The alerts can also be shared with our clients and industry peers.

Formal recognition commends those who demonstrate outstanding HSE performance, but also presents an opportunity to share examples of best practice with our colleagues, clients and peers. Our REACH Beyond Zero Annual Awards celebrate excellence in not only safety, but also health, environment and quality. At Stork, we start meetings for over five people with a safety moment. Why? Because world class safety depends upon everyone taking responsibility, sharing knowledge and lessons learned, and promoting best practice in both our working and our personal lives.
Safety moments are simple but powerful, informal but relevant to our lives. They can be either of the following:
- A conversation starter regarding a safety issue that is relevant to the assembled group (eg, dropped objects, working-at-height, etc);
- Lessons learned where we use the experience of ourselves or others to enhance our safety awareness (eg, lesson learned with Tim O’Brien);
- Sharing knowledge to improve our safety behaviors and practice;
- Personal experience is a great way of bringing safety issues to the fore.
