Press release: Stork wins global OPITO Employer’s Award
Stork, global provider of knowledge-based asset integrity management services focused on the oil & gas, chemical and power sectors, has been named the winner of the OPITO Employer’s Award at the 5th Annual OPITO Safety & Competence Conference in Abu Dhabi. The OPITO Safety & Competence Conference provides a global forum for the discussion of safety and competency issues within the Oil & Gas sector. This year’s event focused on the impact that leadership and change management has on human behaviours in relation to safety.
Stork was awarded the OPITO Employer’s Award for its commitment to the development of its employees as a safe and competent workforce in line with OPITO standards. Stork’s competency programme was begun in conjunction with OPITO in 2006 and it has continued to work closely with the organisation, supporting the skills and competency experts with the creation of new standards for blasting/spraying, non-metallic insulation and fireproofing.
Stork’s VP Service Delivery, Rod Agnew, said, “We are delighted to be recognised by OPITO for our safety and competency programme. Our team works very hard to ensure all Stork employees attain the highest levels of competence and safety, through the completion of OPITO approved training both externally and at our in-house training centre located in Aberdeen, Scotland.”
