Stork receives safety award from the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago

Stork, a Fluor company, received a safety award from the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago (AMCHAM) during the 2016 National Excellence in HSE Awards ceremony 2016 on Tuesday 8th November.

The awards recognize successful business models from organizations that uphold HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) as a key business value and excel in both HSE and business performance.

Stork was nominated in the category of 'Most Improved HSE Performance' for large companies in the Energy sector. The award recognizes a company that has achieved significant improvements in the management of occupational HSE. AMCHAM recognized Stork for reporting significant improvements in HSE throughout recent years. This performance is the result of REACH Beyond Zero, Stork’s global programme to activate and engage all Stork employees to think and do more to improve the company’s HSSEQ culture and performance.

Philip Vilain, country manager for Stork in Trinidad and Tobago, received the award on behalf of the company. “I believe that this was achieved through a simultaneous focus on the many fundamental elements that drive HSE. Among these would be visible HSE leadership, accountability for negligent actions, employee engagement, employee training and paying attention to weak signals. This together with consistency and persistence has led to these positive results. However, the trick now, as we all know, is to guard against complacency. This is imperative!”, said Philip.
