Stork starts Tour de France week with Amateur Ride
Opening Bike Art exposition in Jaarbeurs Convention Center July 3rd
Almost one hundred employees of Stork, technical partner of the Grand Départ Utrecht 2015, participated on Sunday June 28th in the official amateur ride on parts of the course of the Tour de France. The bike ride was the first of a series of activities that celebrate the start of the Tour de France in Utrecht this week. The official opening of the Stork Bike Art exposition in the Jaarbeurs Convention Center will be a next highlight. 18 creative bike designs, made by Stork employees from Colombia to New Zealand, will be showcased. This is the result of an internal competition to create a bicycle from scrap material from the Stork workshops all over the world.
Covering distances from 35 to 150 kilometers, Stork employees from the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK, started in Utrecht on Sunday morning. Every business line was represented as Tour de Stork, the overarching program, targeted every Stork employee worldwide in the spirit of One Team.
Later this week, employees will arrive in Utrecht from each part of the organization as division winners of Stork’s Bike Art competition. They are special guests at the opening of the Bike Art exposition in the Jaarbeurs Convention Center at 12:00 on July 3th. Former Dutch top cyclist Michael Boogerd, alderman Jeroen Kreijkamp of the city of Utrecht and Arnold Steenbakker, CEO Stork, will officially open this exhibition. They will also announce the global Bike Art winner. The exhibition is open for public from July 1st to July 4th.
The public can also vote for their personal favorite by SMS. The proceeds will be donated to “We turn yellow”, the official charity of the Grand Départ.
