Stork Trinidad & Tobago shines at the OPITO Global Awards 2018
Stork Trinidad and Tobago was named the Skilled for Safety Champion at the OPITO Global Awards 2018. This award is given to a business who can demonstrate their commitment to personnel safety through training, people development and the use of OPITO standards. The awards ceremony which honours individuals and companies committed to ensuring their workforce remains safe and competent to the globally recognised OPITO standards was held at the InterContinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday 7th November 2018. It is the only international event which focuses entirely on safety and competency in the oil and gas industry.
Stork was honoured to be recognized on the night as it is a reflection of the robust health and safety culture and commitment to ensuring all employees are well qualified, competent and certified. In June 2018, under the leadership and guidance of Country Manager Philip Vilain and Human Resource Manager Sandra Charles Maxwell the company became the first business in Central and South America to achieve OPITO approval for the way it monitors and develops the skills and competence of its maintenance workers in the region.
Congratulations and special thanks to Training and Competency Team Lead, Natasha Gebodh and the entire Training and Competency team. This award is a direct result of their continuous hard work and dedication to the development of our training and competency management system.
