Finite Element Analysis (FEM)
Stork Turbo Blading offers an FEA to customers to check or improve the design of the blades. Important for the process is that professional messing needs to take place with taking the rotor fit into consideration. Loading can be simulated at various speeds and stress levels calculated with a comparison to the turbine blade material specifications.
Eigenfrequencies & Frequency Analysis
Facing troubles with your blades’ frequencies? Stork has the in-house knowledge and experience to measure, calculate and verify that your turbine blades rotate at optimal frequencies, to ensure a longer product lifespan. Your products can be Re-Engineered to tailor to specific frequencies, minimize failure risks and ensure longevity of your turbo machinery.
Laser Cladding - Erosion Protection & Repair
Facing troubles with your blades’ lifecycle, or want to repair damaged turbo machinery components? Stork has the in-house knowledge and experience to do so. Your products can be repaired as you see fit, minimize failure risks and ensure longevity of your turbo machinery. This technique works very well when it comes to leading and trailing edges / airfoils. It grants additional erosion protection and is a step up from conventional stellite brazing.
Positive Material Identification (PMI)
Stork utilizes Positve Material Identification as a means to determine the right material for your turbine. Based on our extensive database of drawings and years of experience in the field, our engineers can select the right material for your application. PMI helps in identifying OEM materials to select suitable materials to ensure longevity and that the components are manufactured fit-for-purpose.
Stellite Brazing - Erosion Protection
Stellite Brazing is one of the oldest and reliable methods for water droplet erosion protection on aerofoil leading edges. Stork has it’s in house capabilities and procedure’s for Stellite Brazing. Our experience and dedicated quality procedures, including radiographic inspection of the brazed joints, result in high quality blades delivered with unrivaled speed.
Today’s alternative against flame-or induction hardening is laser-hardening. To protect the aerofoil leading edge against water droplet erosion, the material is hardened locally, resulting in hardness of 400-650 Vickers (depending on the parent material). We can offer laser hardening on any type of steam turbine blade.
Moment Weighing - Balance Weighing
To have the minimum unbalance of a set of blades prior to assembly, Stork can deliver your blades together with an assembly sequence report. Moment weighing is one of our recommended standard procedures when supplying larger gas turbine compressor- or steam turbine blades.
