Lessons learned - gas cylinder incident

There have been two separate incidents where gas cylinders containing oxygen and propane were returned to Stork’s Aberdeen base facility stored together in the same gas rack.

Propane is a highly flammable gas which should be segregated from Oxidisers; such as compressed oxygen; to prevent a potential explosion from occurring.

Thankfully, there were no serious consequences as a result of these incidents, but this does not detract from the potential for a major incident, if gas cylinders are not stored correctly.
