Monitoring and diagnostics
Monitoring and diagnostics enable you to optimize your maintenance and reduce costs, moving from unplanned to planned maintenance and improving uptime and efficiency. Our diagnostics engineers can analyze the condition of your complete compressor train and translate the findings into practical recommendations based on our former OEM knowledge and extensive repair experience.
How we add value:
- Diagnostics to assess the condition of critical equipment such as compressors
- Case-by-case diagnostics, for example for troubleshooting or end-of-warranty inspections
- Diagnostics before main equipment overhaul to define the scope, and after overhaul to evaluate the repair works
- Diagnostics as part of a condition-based maintenance program
Vibration measurements provide good insight into machine behavior. We perform both handheld measurements on applications with rolling bearings and more advanced measurements on turbines and gearboxes with sliding bearings. These include multichannel measurements, usually on the complete shaft line (e.g. steam turbines, gearboxes and compressors). Further support is provided by visual inspection and oil analysis. Thermography is used to detect local temperature differences showing leaks, misalignment and bearing problems.
In troubleshooting assignments, alignment measurements provide valuable information on possible causes, using both conventional gauges and advanced laser alignment. In some cases alignment is monitored during operation by laser tracking.
The diagnostics portfolio is complemented by on-site component measurements. Using a Faro arm or optical measurement systems, different points of the geometry can be recorded and can later be directly imported into a 3D CAD program.
