Stellite Brazing - Erosion Protection

Stellite Brazing is one of the oldest and reliable methods for water droplet erosion protection on aerofoil leading edges. Stork has it’s in house capabilities and procedure’s for Stellite Brazing. Our experience and dedicated quality procedures, including radiographic inspection of the brazed joints, result in high quality blades delivered with unrivaled speed.

 

 

Laser Hardening

Laser Hardening of Steam turbine blades

Today’s alternative against flame-or induction hardening is laser-hardening. To protect the aerofoil leading edge against water droplet erosion, the material is hardened locally, resulting in hardness of 400-650 Vickers (depending on the parent material). We can offer laser hardening on any type of steam turbine blade.

 

 

 

Moment Weighing - Balance Weighing

Moment weighing of turbine blades

To have the minimum unbalance of a set of blades prior to assembly, Stork can deliver your blades together with an assembly sequence report. Moment weighing is one of our recommended standard procedures when supplying larger gas turbine compressor- or steam turbine blades.
