Lessons Learned: Finger Injury

A Field Supervisor was walking down an internal stairway when he rolled his left ankle on the last step of the stairs. He lost his balance and fell forward, automatically extending his left hand to break his fall. His hand made contact with an adjacent piping systems identification tag which was secured with a steel tie-wrap. The sharp edge of the tie wrap lacerated his finger resulting in medical treatment being required to the injury.
