Buffer vessels, separators, flash drums and columns each fulfill a specific function in a facility, which it is expected to achieve safely and reliably. However, wear & tear, solids accumulation, leaking flanges, corrosion under insulation, internal corrosion and other damage mechanisms can seriously jeopardize operations. A lot of specialisms are required to keep your vessels and columns in good working condition.
We are ready to provide a wide range of integrated vessel management and support services to successfully deliver complex vessel integrity projects. This can include periodic inspections to understand the condition of the vessel to executing the full overhaul & repair scope during the facility turnaround. We also have a unique, patented advanced online desanding technique that allows us to desand equipment outside of turnaround cycles.
NDT & condition monitoring
We are ready to carry out periodic inspections, including coating, wall thickness and sand level measurements. In the case of insulated vessels, we are on the keen look-out for corrosion under solution (CUI), making use of PEC and other inspection techniques. If desired, we can install the appropriate condition monitoring sensors under the insulation to enhance future CUI detection.
During turnarounds we can manage and/or carry out all services, including:

External insulation removal / re-installation
External coating removal / re-coating
Flange management, incl. flange face repair
If sand is entering into your separator, then you might have gotten used to manual desanding; apart from being dangerous, back-breaking work, it is often on the turnaround critical path. Stork's Advanced Online Desanding (AOD) solution can efficiently desand your separator outside your turnaround period and without having to open your vessel. This often helps shorten the turnaround and minimize the environmental impact.
Planning & oversight
Considering the number of disciplines involved in a vessel turnarounds, inefficiencies and unsafe situations can creep in. Even if not all work is done by Stork’s multi-skilled teams, we look forward to supporting you with planning & oversight provision. This can greatly enhance efficiency, safety and keep your downtime to the absolute minimum.
Custom engineered deaerators
Our legacy as boiler manufacturer provides us with in-depth knowledge of feed water systems. This allows us to provide the most optimal deaerator solution, both for new plants and for existing plants. In the latter case we can retrofit Stork’s patented sprayer into existing deaerators to enhance performance. We design them in-house and fabricate them in either in our own workshop or license to 3rd parties closer to the final site. These pressure vessels can be over 75 meters long and have a diameter of 4 meters. To date we have manufactured over 4,500 deaerator solutions.
