However, to realize that potential cost-efficient O&M is required, ensuring less downtime, a longer lifecycle, and the highest capacity factor for the lowest possible cost. Only then will wind energy be able to compete with traditional / alternative sources of electricity.
We have the field-proven O&M experience to help drive down costs related to both on- and offshore windfarms. This can be related to the windmill itself (tower, blades, drive train), but also related to large (offshore) substations. Our services can start during design and stretch on through maintenance. Often we can help extend the life of ageing assets as well. Apart from routine services, we are also investing in innovative solutions that will absolutely drive down cost and enhance safety.

We often apply rope access to cost effectively and swiftly provide our services.
Currently, we can supply rope access enabled inspection and repair works on blades. However, we are leading a consortium in The Netherlands to develop innovative digital and robotic solutions. Think here of remote operated / autonomous boats that launch drones that can inspect blades. If required, they can deploy crawlers to repair the blades.
This approach should result in less loss of aerodynamic performance, more Annual Energy Production (AEP), a longer lifecycle and less downtime due to failure or repair.
The nacelle contains numerous vital mechanical and electrical systems and subsystems requiring a wide variety of inspection and maintenance tasks. Based upon decades of experience as an independent services provider for all such systems, we are well-equipped to execute these tasks with single point of responsibility.
Especially on offshore wind farms such a one-stop shop approach helps drive down costs. When it comes to ageing assets, we have a lot of knowledge, often enabling us to extend their lifecycle.
When it comes to large 400-800 MW offshore substations, we can take on the whole E&I scope:

Installation of cables, transformers, protection / control / isolation systems
