Stork awarded major project by Gasunie

Stork has been awarded an order by Nederlandse Gasunie N.V. for the multidisciplinary ‘Capacity increase East-West’ project. This project has recently started and will continue until the end of 2013. It will result in a significant capacity increase in the gas transport system in The Netherlands.

In brief this Dutch project consists of 3 components: an increase in compressor capacity at the Grijpskerk location, modification of the IJsselmeer pipelines at a number of locations around the IJsselmeer, and adding the Veluwe pipeline to Gasunie’s gas circulation system.

“Stork has many years of experience in successfully carrying out projects for Gasunie, and was awarded this contract on the basis of a detailed proposal and a proven technical track record”, said David Bartmann, project leader at Gasunie, “This project is another good example of the ‘ONE Stork’ strategy, under which a number of Stork Business Lines are involved. These include Piping & Mechanical services, Electrical & Instrumentation services and Sales & Rental services”.

One of the ways in which Stork distinguishes itself from other parties is the fact that all these activities are available from a single group, which gives customers the benefit of a single point of contact and ensures optimal coordination of all the project activities.
