Challenge

After successfully completing various projects on the AkzoNobel Membraan Elektrolysebedrijf (MEB) plant, Stork was asked to execute a renovation project on the caustic soda storage at AkzoNobel's MEB location, Delfzijl to increase the reliability of operations.

Solution

Stork provided a team of high qualified and experienced professionals to replace pipes and cables, install new pumps and isolation and clean the caustic soda tanks. During the project Stork was also responsible for testing, maintaining, repairing and calibrating the installation’s process control system.

Benefits

Stork improved the reliability of the caustic soda storage at AkzoNobel MEB Delfzijl which allowed the lye installation’s processes to be are connected to the chloride plant again. Stork provided a quick response and flexible approach, while minimisng downtime through inspections and preventive maintenance. The project was delivered on time, within budget and with no safety or environmental incidents.
