Polimeri Europe - Retrofitting HD Reactor Line 2

Challenge

Polimeri's production line 2 had to be stopped for a retrofitting project. The retrofitting project consisted of the dismantling of the HD reactor. The work had to be delivered on time and within budget. Summarised: the challenge was to deliver the entire project without any safety or quality compromise. The pipelines are the ’veins’ of the installation and therefore a crucial part of the entire installation. The maintenance department at Polimeri was looking for a contractor with the ability to deliver a complex pipeline project within a very short time frame.

Solution

Stork’s key differentiator compared to other contractors is the integrated project approach. The company has extensive turn around and stop experience with both mechanical and electrical & instrumentation projects. The Stork team was able to deliver the retrofitting project before the pre-defined deadline. Despite the fact that there was time pressure, the Stork team made no concessions on safety and quality. Safety standards were guaranteed by Stork’s REACH safety program. The project was delivered on a turnkey basis. Apart from the dismantling of the new reactor, the pipelines including tie-ins were installed. The entire project was tested by: using hydraulic tests and leak testing on the flanges. Stork also managed the PED certification of the pipelines.
